Just a few more days to get your Valentine’s Day act together. Thankfully, Gardenologist has some Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Gardeners.

Some of these ideas are romantic, others more practical and still others are those little necessities that many gardeners don’t purchase for themselves.

We think any of these would be a welcome gift for your indoor-gardening Valentine.

Pruning Snips

pruning snipsOne of our members received these little snips as a stocking stuffer five or so years ago and she raves about their durability. They’re still as sharp as the day she received them and she is so impressed that she wanted to buy each of us a pair.

She searched high and low and couldn’t find the exact pair until recently and she had to have them imported.

We decided to buy them in bulk and share them with our readers. You’ll find these wonder snips (ideal for making cuttings and pruning indoor plants) at the Dollar Store!

Heart-Shaped Hydroponic Vase

Is this too cute? An iron holder with a heart-shaped glass container that can be filled with small flowers or rooting cuttings. We love the bird!

Concrete Head Planter

We think this one is perfect for the male urban jungle fan. Made of either concrete or cement (the description mentions both, but they’re not interchangeable). Whatever – it looks great with a plant in it and it has a drainage hole. See the photos in the product’s reviews.

Hoya Kerrii Sweetheart Plant

We love roses, but they eventually die. How about a plant with heart-shaped foliage?

String of Hearts Plant

Another plant with heart-shaped leaves, this string-of-hearts plant (Ceropegia woodii) is ideal for the busy indoor gardener. It thrives in dry soil – overwatering is the quickest way to kill it. Leave it alone, however, and it’ll be trailing over the mantel in no time. While you can purchase it on Amazon.com (click on photo below).

Digz Garden Gloves

Think indoor gardeners don’t need gloves? Think again. Better yet, read this. They may not be romantic, but garden gloves are always a welcome gift. We love these – they’re inexpensive and durable, fit well and they are our go-to for everyday garden chores.

Gloves for the indoor succulent grower

None of us grow succulents indoors so we can’t personally vouch for these gloves but reviewers approve. Check them out!

Wooden Two-sided Hand and Nail Brush

For those who still refuse to wear gloves. We’ve never used this but love the price so we ordered one for ourselves.

Mess-Free Repotting Station

Dump the newspapers-on-the-dining-room-table from your repotting routine and confine the mess to this inexpensive repotting tray or the mat below it.

Repotting Mat

If your Valentine is an apartment dweller or otherwise lacks storage space, consider a repotting mat that can be folded or rolled and stashed away.
